What is it with my phone? As a child I recall going into a store and deciding to purchase an item, asking my dad if he would buy it and either watch impatiently as the transaction took place or slope off like the petulant child I was. This morning after arriving into the office, I turned on my phone to view an email from a good friend. The next email I opened was from a company that had all my details kept on file and beckoned me to purchase this new product, all I had to do was click once. Click once!

Before I would have to catch a No 83 or a 112 to Ealing Broadway, walk at least 5 minutes, enter the store, queue for at least 5 minutes and then pay the shop assistant. Now its one click. That was breakfast.

By home time I was vexed. Having viewed my second pay slip I discovered that I was getting 70% of my salary and the Government was earning 30%. Whilst this is absolutely normal, it did vex me so. I managed to breathe in deeply and consoled myself with the knowledge that I could find a Tai Chi class in Hailsham. Still searching. Made Pizza’s for the children while I dined on the supermarket special offer, Ravioli. Felt like an idiot at the super, as we have at least 10 fabric shopping bags and as usual managed to leave them all at home. Not only was I feeling poor, now I felt irresponsible too. Read a chapter from the Voyage of the Dawn Treader for the children after supper.

It’s late in East Sussex. That’s my cue.
